CALSoft stores your Process Calculation "projects" in a database that operates behind the scenes. This database is called the "ProCAL Database". See this article for more information on the ProCAL Database.
When a ProCAL record is created for a project, the user adds Heat Penetration Files to that project. For each HP file you add , the file name and the file location (path where it is stored on your computer) is stored in the ProCAL database for that record. For example, the file name might be "HPFILE-01.chp"and that files is saved in your CALSoft 6 DOCUMENTS folder. So the path and file name might be ....
C:\user\documents\calsoft6\data\HPFILE-01.chp
For each HP file loaded into the ProCAL Record, CALSoft stores this file name and path in the ProCAL database under that ProCAL Record #.
When you open the ProCAL record in the PROCESS CALCULTION section of CALSoft, the record is loaded and you first see the process calculation information. If you click on BALL SUMMARY tab to see the files that were loaded into the ProCAL record, CALSoft looks for each HP file based on the path and file name that is stored in the ProCAL database for that Record. Then you will see the BALL SUMMARY Tab with a list of the HP files loaded into that ProCAL Record. If you hover over the file name with your mouse, you will see the "path" of that file (where it is stored on your computer).
However, if CALSoft cannot find one or more of the files for that ProCAL record on your computer (in the path where the file is expected to be), you will see a message that says the "CALSoft files are missing or the file is corrupt". This may be because the file(s) were moved/deleted from that location, a folder was was renamed, or someone else established the process on a different computer (for shared ProCAL databases). The message looks like this...
You have two options...
- Find the new file/location. Check the file from the list that you want to find, and click this button to navigate to the correct location/path where the selected file is located. Even if the file has a new name, you can navigate to that file. This will reset the file name/path that is stored in the ProCAL database for that file in the ProCAL record, and will allow you to open the BALL SUMMARY TAB for that ProCAL record, to access the HP files used in that project.
- Remove the Linked File from the Project. Check the file from the list that you want to remove, and click this button to remove the selected file from the ProCAL record. Note that if you remove the file that had the thermocouple/heating factors used to establish the process, the Process will be set to "incomplete" and the process calculation information will be gone for this ProCAL Record (because the required HP file will not be included in the project any longer).
