CALSoft 6 offers a stand-alone "Product Data" application. The product data app can be run outside of CALSoft to enter data related to a test. You can run the app on the same computer you are running CALSoft on, or on a different device, such as a laptop or tablet. In the app, you are able to create and share templates for entering product data. You have the ability to enter information in the app before, during, or after a test, and create a product data file (.ccd), which can be shared with other CALSoft users too. You can then import a product data file into your CALSoft HP file's Product Data section.
To create a product data file (.ccd), you can either:
- Click "Export Product" in the Product Data section within an HP file
- Use the stand-alone Product Data app
Using the Product Data App to Create a Product Data File:
When CALSoft 6 is installed on your computer, the "CALSoft Product Data Entry" program is also installed. Find and open this program/application, or go to the main CALSoft home page and click the TOOLS icon at the top right and select "Product Data Entries," and a window will pop up. To create a NEW product data file, click "New." To OPEN or edit an existing product data file, click "Open."
After clicking "New," enter a name for the new file, and determine the file location where it will be saved. Then click "Save."
The Product Data Entry Sheet will be shown, which functions very similarly to the Product Data Section of an HP file:
- You may add/remove Product Data by clicking "Customize Product Data Factors" and then turning on/off any factors you wish to display/hide. You may also use this feature to edit text or unit measures and create a custom product data template (.ctv file) with the columns you'd like.
- The "Cell Copy" feature allows you to enter a value and then click "Cell Copy" to copy that information into each cell in that column.
- The "Change Lead Type" feature allows you to change a thermocouple’s lead type.
When you are finished creating your product data file, click "Save File" or "Save As." The product data file will now be saved.
NOTE: Saving a product data file will not only save the values you enter in each cell, but also the columns you have selected to show in the grid. You do not have to fill each cell with information in order to save your product data file.
Importing a Product Data File into an HP File:
To import a product data file (.ccd) into a heat penetration data file, first open an HP file. On the HP File Screen, in the Ribbon Menu, click "Product Data." On the product data popup page, click "Import Product" and select the product data file you would like to import and click "Open." The product data grid will then auto-fill with the columns, values, and text from the imported product data file.
