If you are using Madgetech data loggers to collect heat penetration or temperature distribution data, you can download your data form the loggers and export that data to Excel using the Madgetech software. The following is a guide on how to do that...
STEP 1:
First you need to download the data from each logger …
- Connect the Madgetech docking station to a computer with the Madgetech software installed.
- Connect the Madgetech logger(s) to the Madgetech docking station
- Download the data (after it has collected data and is stopped)
- Madgetech calls each data file from a logger a “Dataset”
- Save the datasets (files) from each logger…. You can set up a location for the datasets to be downloaded to (see Help in the Madgetech software for this)
- After you download all “datasets”, you can see/navigate to them … they will be displayed on the FILE DATABASE window-panel on the left hand side of the screen (in a folder where you saved them)
STEP 2:
Then create a “report” of the datasets..
- Reports are shown in the window at the bottom of the page.
- To set up a new report and then import the datasets (logger files) into it…
- Open a report or select the tab or window containing the report.
- In the Files Database panel, select the folder that contains the required dataset.
- You can select multiple datasets (logger data files) by holding the Ctrl or Shift key and either selecting additional datasets or using the arrow keys.
- Right-click the dataset(s) and click Add to current report. Datasets can also be dragged into the report window.
- The report will show you the data from each logger (dataset) you chose to be on the report (you can name the report if you want).
STEP 3:
Then export to Excel…
- After you have all your datasets (logger files) in a report, keep that report open and then click the “Export to Excel” button at the top menu.
- All datasets on the report will be exported to one single Excel .. with each logger as a separate column.
